Kevin’s New Clothes

21 Jun

I got a new little skin for Kevin… isn’t it pretty?

After peeling out the frame I had a whole inside’s worth of sticker left, and since I’m my mother’s daughter, I couldn’t bear to throw it away.

I also had these, which I made a while back, and whose color scheme was starting to annoy me:

adorable, but not so much with the matching of my kitchen.

Outdated Bottle Cap Magnets + Leftover Sticker Cover = WIN!

Here’s a close up of my favorite fortune ever (I’ve had it since…uhm… well, I’ve had it for so long I can’t remember)!

And there you have it!  New clothes for everyone, a fun way to use something that otherwise would’ve been thrown away, and some excellent advice! Enjoy!

Oh, and FYI: we don’t really keep pictures of shoes on our fridge.  That’s a reminder of what Miss Nina looked like way back in November 2010 when we first brought her home.

My men are all sick!

7 Nov

We’ve put poor Zoltar in a technologically induced coma (read: he cannot be turned on again until he gets a new hard drive.) He’s on the donor list, but he needs a solid state drive (only the best for my baby!), and his parents are busy moving and getting a new kitten this week, so he’s going to have to wait awhile.

In other news, TheGoodDoctor (Husband’s old desktop replacement) is currently in the hospital with a nasty case of Windows Vista. It’s downright heartbreaking to watch. He’s getting some much needed fluids (read: Linux), so he’ll be OOC for awhile until we see if he will accept the new system. We have him on anti-rejection meds (a USB cooling fan), but all we can do is wait.

Everyone on Noah’s Ark (our server) is pulling for my boys, really they are, but they’re busy playing League of Legends, so yours truly is left with nothing to do but express order an iPad/camera adapter cord and blog picturelessly via Kevin, who is the sort of man you like to take to a frenemy’s engagement party, but not the sort you want to let your nephew hang out

It’s also possible that I could patiently wait my turn while Husband finishes his game and simply switch user profiles on the Ark, but it’s highly unlikely. })I({

Casing the Joint, and also, a Guest Post!

So, I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it or not, but my fantabulous family got me an iPad for my birthday! It’s perfect timing, since Zoltar has been sent to the old-computers home to await a motherboard transplant (which, frankly, we just don’t have time to worry about before the move).  In the meanwhile I’ll be using Kevin and the Good Doctor to blog my little blog.  The Good Doctor is Husband’s Desktop Replacement computer, which looks an awful lot like a laptop but is, according to Husband, DEFINITELY NOT a laptop.  The battery pack is busted, so The Good Doctor must be plugged in 100% of the time.  He’s also seven years old, so he has to think really hard to do complicated computery tasks like… er… backspace.  And, since The Good Doctor is…how shall I put this?… Old School, he uses Windows, crashes Adobe, and runs too slowly to even LOAD video.  Good thing I have Kevin, eh?

Anyway, for the foreseeable future it will be me, The Good Doctor, and my new iPad, Kevin.   I made Kevin this groovy pocket, but I’m not sure I’m in love with it… Methinks it needs a better design plan.  (Also, sorry about the teeny picture… I really MUST remember not to rely on my iphone camera…) Thoughts?

Caliente Pocket!

Oh, and one more thing!  I’ve been invited to do a guest post about my crazy houseplant habits at With Duck & Goose’s blog, and it should be appearing today!  Yay!  Go check it out, and stay tuned for Amy’s guest post next week here at A Happy One!  })i({
