Another Welcome to Earth Blanket? Why, Yes!

Remember how Chibi’s baby is due fifteen minutes after mine?  Well, Nephew4 needs a Welcome to Earth Blanket just as badly as his cousins (and friends) do, but little old me has been getting rather bored with traditional baby colored things.

Light pink?  SNORE.

Pale, pale blue?  ICK.

Creamy, barely there yellow?  MEH.

Solution?  A big, bold Welcome to Earth Blanket in three awesome primary colors:

I used the same color orange as I did to make Hobbes, which I hear will be helping decorate the nursery over in Chibiland, so I’m *hoping* this awesome blankie will match Nephew4’s decor.

You may also notice that I went for the uber-traditional granny square (or in this case, granny rectangle) pattern to offset my non-trad color choices (plus, there’s only so much crazy stitching a gal can do).  Think it’ll work?  Think Chibi’s baby will want to snuggle in this blankie?

Since Chibi & I’s joint baby shower is eco-friendly (ie: no tree-killing wrapping paper), some yarny ribbon is the best it’s going to get.

heyyy... where did those Adoraboots come from? Ssshhh! Don't tell Chibi - she doesn't know she's getting them!

And, since said baby shower isn’t until the end of the month (the *very* last weekend I’m allowed to travel – no sense staying home until I have to), Chibi’s going to have to wait until then to see her gift in person.

Itsy Bitsy Snoopy

I finally finished my teenity tinity Snoopity doll! Hooray!

The pictures didn’t turn out so great; I blame autofocus. I’ve already given little Snoop here to Brother (Huzzah!  He got his entire Christmas present in under a year!), so I’ll have to remember to take better pictures next time I make one.

I don't know...there's just something about teeny tails that makes me squeeeee!

Ninathrone.

See that chair?  It used to be my favorite chair. So comfy. So comforting. So full of goodness and snuggles and warm fuzzies…

I can haz throne?

Now it is my Nina Kitten’s favorite chair.

She has lurvs for the chair (and yes, she’s also claimed my favorite Christmas present– Sad).

When I toss her off the chair (in a gentle, loving way, of course) so that actual people may sit on it, she naps elsewhere (though she does it with a cranky look on her face, don’t you think)?

cranky Nina is cranky.

I know it might be hard to recognize, but that kitten is giving me her best put-out look because I’ve forced her to sleep on her own bed instead of on my favorite chair.  I’m so mean!

See how she glares at me out of the corner of her eye?  Hmm… I wonder… is it over-indulgent of me to purchase a new chair for myself so that Nina can maintain her attachment to the Ninathrone?

It’s possible I’ve gone round the bend.  But seriously… can you blame me?  Nina Simone celebrated her 7 month birthday last Friday, and she is still the most adorable kitten in all the land, isn’t she?  I mean, isn’t she?  =)
