Even MOAR dragonses!

25 Feb

I’m not obsessed yet.  I’m not obsessed yet.  I’m not obsessed yet…

It occurs to me that once the baby gets here Husband’s coffee intake is going to increase exponentially. Moar coffee = Moar of those little cardboard coffee cozy things that are always falling off (and that I *hate*).  Solution?  MOAR DRAGONS!!!

This little guy is made of washable, unbleached cotton (of course), and ended up with just the right amount of stretch.  Groovy.

I wish I had a fancier travel mug model...

Stale Coffee + Melty Crayons

25 Jun

+ those teeny canning jars that jelly comes in and that are too small to reuse for anything useful =

COFFEE CANDLES! HOORAY! (btw- do I say ‘hooray’ too much, do you think?  hmmm…) Anyway.

I ground up my stale coffee, poured some in the bottom of a jar, & used it to stabilize the wick.

It's very scientific. I used about *that* much.

Then, because I am so crafty and full of awesome, I melted down some icky crayon bits I forgot to take out of my trunk during that heat spell we had a bit ago and poured them into the jar. I am so smart!

Some of the coffee grinds floated to the top. Groovy.

It's a green candle! (see what I did there?)

And… VOILA! A coffee scented candle! Hoor…uhm… I mean… Yeah, it was okay.

I had some stale coffee left, so I just put it into another one of the jars and hid it under the shoe rack by our front door.  It’s really nice to smell something other than feet when you get home. =)

How do you use up stale coffee?

Happy Birthday, daD!

24 Jun

Today is my daD’s birthday! He’s turning… uhm… I don’t know, six hundred years old or something.  In honor of my old, old (really super old) daD, I thought you all might want to see some of his favorite things!

daD's back yard

daD's first grandbaby (playing with Auntie Melissa's water beads)

daD's fishies

daD's pond-side chats with family and a cuppa

daD's pond (he really likes the pond, okay?!?)

daD's freshly painted back fender

daD's lone wolf gas tank

So, to sum up, my daDdy loves fishies, grandbabies,  his pond, choppers, wolves, his pond, a nice cuppa, and his pond.

Oh, and also, he loves his pond.

Happy Birthday, daDdy! I love you!
