A Crunchy Welcome to Earth Blanket!

8 Feb

…for a sweet baby girl slated to make her debut in early March:

It’s my favorite crazy stitch, only this time in an all natural, unbleached cotton.  Fabulous!

It’ll go great with the sweet little dragon baby I made to go along with it.  I can’t wait to meet her (the baby, not the dragon.  I’ve already met the dragon).  *grin*

Pink Hat is Pink!

2 Feb

It was no less than 70 degrees and sunny here in Washington, DC yesterday, but it must be winter somewhere, because I just completed a custom Etsy order for this little hat:

Cute!

It’s an ear flap beanie made of a light pink, machine washable wool, and topped with a confetti bumble (size 12-24 mos)!   I have to say – I’m utterly in love with this pink yarn – it *seriously* looks delicious enough to nom (and that’s not just the pregnant girl craving food, either).

I realized too late that most of the pictures I took were from the same, vaguely alienesque angle, so please forgive the lack of… err… perspective.

2012: The Year of the Dragon

22 Jan

…Long absence, something something, blah blah excuse something…

HELLOOOOOO, and welcome to my first post of 2012… The Year of the Dragon!

Turns out 2012 is also going to be The Year of the Baby around these parts… Husband & I’s little bundle of (joy? poop?… depends on who you ask) will be here at the end of April, as will Chibi’s baby (Dude, you should *see* the two pregnant Chibi girls hang out…), and a dear friend of mine will be welcoming her first child in March!

Anyway, I’m working on an all new product line for my Etsy shop – featuring dragons, obviously – but in the meanwhile I whipped up this little cutie for the March Baby (I really hope the gender ultrasound was accurate!):

The Year of the Disgustingly Cute Dragon!

The pattern was a paid Ravelry download, but totally worth it – look at the cute little baby wearing the dragon suit!  D’aawwwwwww…

As usual I tweaked the pattern a bit – I used a thinner yarn than was called for, so I had to compensate by throwing in a few extra rows and stitches.  I’m happy with how the little gal turned out, and who knows?  Maybe you’ll be seeing her over at the shop when my new line comes out (hopefully that will be, you know, SOON)!
