Kitteh + Plarn = Win?

19 Jan

I like to make Miss Nina’s collars… it’s a great way to use up scrap yarn.  They start off looking awesome, but after about a week they tend to look like this:

frayed edges hurt my soul.

Solution?  PLARN!  WOOO!  (If you want some plarn, check out my tutorial or visit my Etsy shop to order some pre-made!)

does plastic shred as easily as fiber?

oh noes! Nina just watched "The Ring!" Halp!

<whew> looks like she's fine now... she wants to show you something real quick, though... *tee hee*

Anyway, plarn is an awesome upcycling adventure…you should totally try it!  We’ll see how long it lasts before my beautiful little kitten destroys her new collar!  (Any bets?)

In other news, I just watched Nina drag a fork into her secret under-the-bed lair (How did she get a fork?  WHERE did she get a fork?  Has she learned to open drawers already?  Why the heck does my kitty-bitty want a fork?).  I probably should not let her play with a fork, but I’m secretly impressed that she somehow got one from the kitchen all the way to the guest room without me noticing, so I’m going to let it slide.  This time.  })i({

    Personally, I think the frayed collar is kind of cute! Looks almost in style, even!

    There are tons of things we pet owners “let slide,” like how my dog once climbed up on a table, ate 5 chocolate chip cookies, and cleaned up after herself without a trace. Just impressive!

    I bet she had already smuggled the can of kitty food under the bed while you weren’t watching and wanted to enjoy her dinner with a fork, just like Mom and Dad!

    Oh I like that idea! It looks so fresh and so clean!
